Brice L. Sayers, 86, of Decatur passed away at 11:05 P.M. Sunday, October 10, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Cremation rites were accorded. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon Friday, October 15, 2010 at Fairlawn Cemetery. Reverend Joel Stevenor will officiate. Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Mr. Sayers was born September 29, 1924, in East St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Charles and Dorothy (Turner) Sayers. He was a member of the VFW and a past Member of Sharon United Methodist Church. Brice enjoyed golf, bowling and his shuffleboard league. He was a die-hard Cardinal fan. Mr. Sayers was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Europe during WWII. He married Roberta Tosh December 21, 1946. Roberta preceded him in death. In October of 1977, Brice married Oma Custard. Oma also preceded him in death. Brice retired as manager of Liquor Sales at Osco’s.
Brice is survived by his children; Charles Sayers and his wife Joni of Mt. Zion, IL, Alan Sayers of Cartersville, IL, Richard Sayers of Fond Du Loc, WI, April Neal and her husband Lou of Decatur and Linda Sayers of Beacon, NY; five grandchildren, Clay Sayers and his wife Jessica of Highland Ranch, CO, Matthew Sayers of Esparto, CA, Jonathan Neal of Decatur, Jennifer Neal of Decatur and Hannah Neal of Decatur; one great-grandchild, Lachlan Sayers of Highland Ranch, CO.
Mr. Sayers was preceded in death by his parents and his two wives and one sister.
